Comment on columns

Column Name Description
Idx Index of TAPI line in the driver. The first line has index 0.
This column is initially invisible and only appears when you click the [Delete] button.
TAPI-Line Name of TAPI-Line
IP IP-Addresse of the telephone. (Only for "TAPI for Snom" driver.)
Channel Channel ID of the phone. (Only for "TAPI for Asterisk" driver.)
TAPI-Status Specifies whether the TAPI line is opened by a TAPI application.
  • "opened": TAPI line is opened
  • "closed": TAPI line is not opened / not currently in use

Hints:

  • Outlook opens the TAPI line only when actually a number to be dialed. Ih this case the default state is "closed".
  • TAPI applications, that report incoming calls, have to open the TAPI line permanently. If the TAPI application is started, the assigned line should appear as "opend".

Sort by Column Content

A click on the column name will sort the list in ascending order according to the contents of this column.

The default is to sort by TAPI line name.

Deleting TAPI lines

The TAPI driver allows only deleting the last TAPI line (the TAPI line with the highest index).
The reason is that the TAPI applications will open the TAPI lines using the index. If a line between would be deleted, the line indices would move and then the TAPI applications may open a wrong line.

The column to the Line-Idx is initially invisible and only appears when you click the [Delete] button.
Sort the list if necessary by the Line-Idx to see which line has the highest index.

If you no longer need a line that is in between, this is no problem for now. You can ignore this line at first and possibly reconfigure it if you need a new line.
The license management counts only the number of actually opened Lines.
